SCOTCH SINGLE MALT WHISKIES > P
„Portavadie Distillery is an exciting new project designed to open and establish a small distillery in Pollphail Village at Portavadie, near Tighnabruaich on the shores of Loch Fyne.
The visitor centre and the distillery will be fuelled by our own biomass plant from our own sustainable forest and every effort will be made to maintain an Eco-Friendly project from the build to everyday operations.
Currently we supply whisky that is from our own stock and bottle it in the name of Portavadie Distillery. Our future plans include producing single malt whisky and also adding some premium Vodka’s, Gin as well as our own recipe Schnapps style drink, Schnapped®.“ www.portavadiedistillery.co.uk
The proposed distillery will have a bonded warehouse and a visitor centre.
„The visitor centre and the distillery will be fuelled by our own biomass plant from our own sustainable forest and every effort will be made to maintain an Eco-Friendly project from the build to everyday operations. All bi-products from the distillery will be reused. The bi-products from the distilling will be re-used utilising the services of a third party to turn the waste into usable fuel and other products.“
The planned distillery will be located at the ghost village of Polphail, the abandoned 25 acres village at Portavadie in Cowal peninsula at Loch Fyne, Argyll and Bute. The village was built in the 1970 to accommodate workers of a planned oil platform construction yard which was never completed. The houses of the village were never occupied. It was sold last year in December for about £250,000.
